Gary and I traveled to Sault Ste. Marie to visit friends and to tour a number of great attractions. One of these attractions was the Art Gallery of Algoma.

The Gallery, located on the shores of the St. Marys River, is a beautiful tribute to the art displayed inside!

From the Gallery’s grounds, visitors can see the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge that connects Canada and the United States.

Surrounding the Gallery are a number of interesting statutes. I testament to the “uniqueness” of the Art Gallery of Algoma!

Once inside of the Gallery, we are greeted by Jasmina Jovanovic, the Gallery’s Executive Director. We are ready for our “grand” tour!

Our first exploration is of the well-stocked Gift Shop. I had to hold myself back!

Jasmina then took us to the “Project Room“. So much history to take in!

Next we were led on a tour of the Gallery’s “WALLS”! The art Gallery of Algoma contains go many wonderful pieces of art. Too many to take in in so little time!

Gary and I wandered the main hall, marveling at the magnificent paintings and sculptures.

The final “icing in the cake” was the Group of Sevenwall“! Several Group of Seven paintings hang there!

Many Group of Seven artists used the Algoma Region both as a “retreat” and as a “canvas“, ready to be painted!
